- Store the solid desiccated at 2-8C or -20C, protected from light and air. The free thiol oxidizes to the disulfide on its own in aqueous solution. Prepare fresh, consider degassed buffer with a chelator such as EDTA, and verify free-thiol content rather than assuming the nominal concentration.
